March 2026 – Doncasters has entered the cleantech sector through a first-of-its-kind cooperation with Finnish technology and engineering company Coolbrook.

The partnership will see Doncasters manufacture complex aerofoil castings for Coolbrook’s patented RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) technology, an innovative solution designed to enable high-temperature industrial processes powered by clean, renewable electricity.

Coolbrook’s RDH™ technology is projected to reduce global CO₂ emissions in heavy industry sectors by up to 30% through electrification and decarbonisation. The cooperation will also support the world’s first commercial-scale deployment of the technology at Adani Cement’s Boyareddypalli Integrated Cement Plant in India.

Doncasters will manufacture high-precision aerofoil casting components at its precision casting facility in Chard, Somerset, UK. The site is currently undergoing a programme of investment, including the introduction of a new shell line, further strengthening its capability to deliver complex superalloy investment castings for demanding applications.

These capabilities are critical in meeting the performance and reliability requirements of high-temperature electrification systems as they move into continuous industrial operation. As demand for RDH™ technology grows, additional production is planned across other Doncasters sites.

Ian Jones, Sales Director at Doncasters, said: “Doncasters is proud to support the revolutionary electric technology developed by Coolbrook, helping to reduce CO₂ emissions through the introduction of electrification in some of the most energy-intensive sectors of industry.”

Joonas Rauramo, CEO of Coolbrook, added: “Working with Doncasters is an important step in bringing our RotoDynamic Heater™ Technology into real-world applications. Their expertise in complex precision casting enables us to move to industrial-scale deployment. Delivering the Adani project requires a strong and capable manufacturing base, and contributions like this are essential to ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.”

This cooperation marks an important milestone in Doncasters’ continued commitment to innovation and supporting the transition to more sustainable industrial processes.
