December 2025 – Doncasters has announced a $52 million investment in its Bochum site in Germany as part of a strategic programme to expand capacity, enhance manufacturing capability and strengthen supply-chain resilience for aerospace customers.

This investment is one of the largest capital investments in our history and reflects our commitment to strengthening capability, increasing capacity and supporting long term growth for our customers.

This three year initiative will enhance Bochum’s position as a leading centre for the production of complex large Industrial Gas Turbine castings. The site will also build on its existing expertise in vacuum cast blades and vanes, as well as the superalloys used in their manufacture.

“The new production hall will give us increased capacity and support committed customer volumes. It is part of a wider capital programme that will accelerate further in 2027 and 2028, putting Bochum firmly at the forefront of Doncasters’ global capabilities” — Indy Rattu, President Europe.

Work inside the factory is already underway to prepare for new state of the art equipment. A series of new DS furnaces will be installed from December, supported by an additional furnace currently being fitted. The installation programme will run over the next 12 to 18 months to ensure a smooth and efficient transition.

In spring 2026 we will begin ground works for a new 3,000 square metre production hall. Once completed later that year, the space will allow us to relocate equipment from the main building and introduce new large core manufacturing capabilities. This development will become the foundation for a Centre of Excellence for Core Manufacturing at Bochum.

The investment will also create new employment opportunities across engineering, production and finishing as we continue to grow our Bochum team.

This expansion marks an important milestone for Doncasters and demonstrates our commitment to innovation, capability and future growth.
