April 2023 – Doncasters has announced a £1m investment to transform connectivity across its European sites.

Cloud and managed services company Maintel will implement a Software-defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solution to provide Doncasters with an enhanced level of connectivity that will also provide a new European Meraki Wifi system.

The £1m project will be completed by May and will cover Doncasters’ sites at Bochum and Breckerfeld (Ivostud) in Germany, along with sites at Chard, Isle of White (Trucast UK), Droitwich (Deritend) and Killamarsh (Ross & Catherall) in the UK.

The new IT solution will provide Doncasters with the ability to deliver the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) FUSION Project, including a new Shop Floor Data collection solution across multiple sites.

This investment aligns to the continued growth strategy and delivery for Doncasters’ customers across the Aerospace, Automotive and IGT (Industrial Gas Turbine) industries.

Doncasters’ Group Information Technology Director at Doncasters, Gavin Clegg, said: “At Doncasters we are committed to building a secure, compliant and resilient connectivity solution that supports our sites to delivery at the highest level for our customers.”

Dean Taylor, Head of Corporate at Maintel, added: “We are thrilled to be able to work with Doncasters in helping them overcome their connectivity challenges. We look forward to working closely with Doncasters to implement these changes in the coming years.”

Maintel designs, deploys, and supports SD-WAN solutions. Maintel help organisations to define, deploy and maintain the right on premise or multicloud solution for customers supporting every location, employee and device.
