1 September 2020 – Burton Upon Trent, UK – Following a brief period as interim chief financial officer (CFO), Doncasters Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Martle on a permanent basis, from 1 September 2020.

Mike Quinn, Doncasters’ CEO commented: “I’m delighted that Simon has accepted the permanent CFO role. Since joining us as interim CFO Simon has proven that he will be a valued Team member in helping us navigate the challenges the industry currently faces as a result of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. More importantly, Simon will be a strong contributor to the culture I look to build at Doncasters. I look forward to continuing to work with him in the long-term”.

Familiar with the manufacturing group’s corporate finance and IT functions, having led them since the successful restructuring of Doncasters in Q1 2020, Simon also has over 20 years of corporate finance experience and has previously held the group financial controller role at both Kier Group plc and London Stock Exchange Group plc, as well as various CFO and finance director roles within Rolls-Royce plc.

Simon Martle commented: “I am excited to be joining Doncasters full time as CFO. I’m aware we’re in unprecedented times for the industries we serve but the longer-term macroeconomics are strong and, having seen the Board and management team in action, I am confident that together we will drive the business forward to realise its undoubted potential”.
