5 January 2021, Newberry, SC, USA – Doncasters has announced the retirement of Chris Pritchard, Divisional Managing Director of the Trucast business, following over 40 years’ service.
Beginning his career with Rolls Royce in Derby, UK, in 1971, Chris joined Ross Catherall Ceramics in Denby, Derbyshire in 1976. Chris spent many years in a variety of engineering and operational roles, developing an in-depth understanding of investment casting, team building and customers, becoming Managing Director of RCC in 1990.
In 1996 Chris relocated to the USA to project manage the set-up of the Trucast Inc facility in Newberry, South Carolina. Over the subsequent years, he developed a high-performing business, eventually stepping up to lead the entire Trucast operation, ultimately as Divisional Managing Director.
Mike Quinn, Doncasters’ CEO stated: “Chris has been a valued member of the executive leadership team for many years. His extensive industry and process knowledge have been valuable to the group as a whole, not just the Trucast division. He has always championed an engaging leadership style, no doubt contributing to his teams’ ability to consistently deliver on their targets.
“On behalf of the board, as well as Chris’ friends and colleagues across Doncasters Group, I’d like to wish him a very happy and well-deserved retirement.”
Chris Pritchard commented: “I will be leaving Doncasters with many fond memories of the many teams and individuals that I have worked with over my 45 years in the industry. Following 25 years with Trucast, it will be no surprise to anyone that I am especially proud of my Trucast family and what we have been able to achieve together.
“I relocated to South Carolina in 1996 to build the Trucast US manufacturing base. With a focused and innovative workforce combined with a close relationship and partnership with our customers, we have built a business with a truly world-class reputation for delivery, technical ability and responsiveness.
“It has been my high honour and privilege to have led Doncasters’ Turbocharger Division. I am confident that the business will continue to perform well into the future, with the basic tenets of customer first, teamwork and continuous improvement deeply instilled in our business philosophy.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks and very best wishes to my colleagues at Doncasters and throughout the industry, I will miss you all more than you can imagine.”
From January 17th, 2022, Doncasters’ Trucast division, comprising Trucast Ltd in the UK and Trucast Inc in the USA, will join Doncasters’ USA division under Divisional Managing Director Jason Mays. Jason and Chris are already working together to ensure a smooth transition and Chris will be available to support beyond the organisational change date where necessary.
