8 April 2014, Burton-upon-Trent, UK — Robin Russell has been appointed as Finance Director for Doncasters Shrewsbury according to an announcement from Brian Hoover, General Manager of the site. Mr Russell will be taking over from Lyndon Tomblin who will be leaving the business to pursue new career opportunities at the beginning of June. Robin and Lyndon will work in tandem from 23 April to ensure a full handover of all responsibilities and a smooth transition for the Finance function at Doncasters Shrewsbury.
Prior to joining Doncasters Shrewsbury, Robin spent 8 years in a senior Finance role at Webasto Edscha Cabrio UK Ltd, a German owned automotive manufacturer with an annual turnover of €30 million. He successfully restructured their Finance function enabling the company to recover substantial overdue debts as well as implement cost savings activities in HR, Purchasing, Logistics and IT.
Previous to this, Robin was Finance Director for Eagle Pither Hillsdale Ltd, a US owned automotive specialising in the design and manufacture of crank shaft dampeners and NVH product applications, with a turnover of £13 million. In this role he successfully implemented changes to the finance department, improved finance communications with other parts of the business and supported the management team through the budgeting process.
He is a qualified management accountant and member of both CIMA and CGMA.
