Doncasters Group Ltd manufactures a wide array of forged, stamped, fabricated and machined performance-critical components for the transportation sector, including automotive, marine, sub-marine, heavy truck, recreational and agricultural transport.

Components manufactured include gear products, fasteners and stampings, produced in a variety of metals and alloys.

We also offer a range of turbocharger components to the specialist automotive industry.

An expert in the production of high-strength fasteners, we supply stud welding systems and components to virtually all of the leading automotive OEMs, including General Motors, VW, Audi and BMW. Popular applications include:

  • Studs used for vehicle accessory components
  • Automated welding and assembly systems
  • Vehicle insulation, hydraulic brake and fuel lines
  • Grounding applications

We also have a specialism in diesel engine, high temperature and safety critical fasteners, formed and shaped from carbon steels, stainless steel, specially formulated alloys, inconel and pyromet.

Bolts and screws are produced in sizes ranging from 6mm to 75mm in diameter and are supplied to such notable names as Caterpillar Tractor, International Truck and Engine and Detroit Diesel.

Our Gear Products company designs and manufactures individual components or complete gear drive assemblies for the recreational, utility and general-purpose vehicle markets, as well as utilising specialist gear technology to serve the unique needs of the commercial and defence industries.

Design and cutting capabilities range from high volume components and assemblies to one-piece prototypes, including net-forged bevel gears, cut gears, differentials, transmissions and drive systems. Gear cutting specialities include:

  • Net-forged bevel gears up to 225mm in diameter
  • Gear cutting up to Class 10, hobbing up to 900mm OD, crowning and tooth rounding
  • Shaping between 12 and 350mm IJ, or up to 500mm OD
  • Broaching
  • Turning
  • Spline rolling
  • OD, ID and Surface grinding
  • Thread milling, production sawing and vibratory finishing

As one of the most demanding environments for our components, the transportation sector demands the very highest quality standards.

To this end, we employ state-of-the-art CNC machining centres and non-destructive testing equipment to produce exceptional machined parts and components, recognised around the world for their toughness, high fatigue strength, wear resistance and retention of dimensional stability during prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.

We also manufacture high quality stampings and engineered assemblies to exacting customer requirements, with key products including:

  • Flat and conical washers
  • Nut and bolt retainers (anti rotation)
  • Nut and bolt cam assemblies
  • Vibration isolator assemblies
  • Free-spinning nut and washer assemblies
  • Balance weights
  • Shims, plates and spacers

Throughout the manufacturing process, we work closely with transportation OEMs to develop and manufacture high quality components that will both meet and exceed their exacting requirements. This partnership approach, combined with our commitment to continuous improvement means that competitors find it difficult to keep pace with the developments we have implemented over recent years, ensuring customers can be assured of the very best quality and efficient delivery at all times.

Quality is at the heart of Doncasters’ company ethos, together with a commitment to a culture of continuous improvement. We currently hold the following external certifications as testament to these standards: ISO9001:2000, ISO17025 (mechanical testing laboratory), ISO13918 (welding), ISO14555 (arc stud welding of metallic materials), ISO9000, 9001, 9002 and 14001.
