Doncasters Group Ltd is a leading global industry player in the manufacture of 'performance critical' components for industrial gas turbines. Our client base includes most of the world's key manufacturers of current and next generation technology that either currently or will play very important roles in the provision of efficient energy to industry and the wider general public.

Our customers include Ansaldo, Alstom, GE and Siemens. Without doubt these clients require leading edge solutions to current energy production issues as well as early problem solving capabilities when looking at the next generation of industrial gas turbine technologies.

We manufacture the following 'critical' components for the industrial gas turbine market:

  • Stainless steel forged and machined compressor blades
  • High nickel alloy combustion and turbine components
  • 'Superalloy' turbine blades and vanes
  • Nickel alloy disc forgings
  • Nickel and steel alloy centrifugally cast engine casings
  • Nickel alloy and stainless steel forged and machined combustor/turbine casing rings
  • Nickel alloy combustion heat shields
  • Machined and forged fasteners for rotors
  • Machined and forged fasteners, crossfire tubes and dowel pins for combustors
  • Casing fasteners
  • Alloy stainless steel and nickel thin-wall tubular components

It should be noted that the list set out above is not exhaustive in terms of our capabilities. In particular, we are particularly proud of our position as one of the world's largest and most respected manufacturers of superalloy barstock to the Industrial Gas Turbine market. We have sites in the UK (Ross & Catherall near Sheffield) and USA (Certified Alloy Products Inc or CAPI in Long Beach California) dedicated to this technology.

We also manufacture a range of fasteners for turbines with critical temperature and fatigue requirements and, as a leader in advanced cooling technologies, we employ leading edge manufacturing techniques that ensure our components stand up in the most demanding environments.

We are involved in many of the next generation industrial gas turbine programmes and have a reputation for finding solutions for many leading edge technology issues particularly in the context of durability/through life support and time to market new designs.

As with aerospace, our 'engine ready' philosophy is designed to give the customer a full service solution that minimises waste and administration. It also enables Doncasters to provide a cost efficient and extremely reliable range of industry leading products in World Class lead times.

The division is currently enjoying the benefits of an upturn in demand for efficient power generation resources, be it new capacity or the upgrading of existing facilities.

As with every Doncasters division, attention to detail, responding to client requirements as regards specifications, product delivery and manufacturing costs that are highly competitive are 'high priority' for the group.
