Doncasters is a leading manufacturer of vacuum melted superalloys for precision casting applications in the petrochemical industry. Doncasters has two operating facilities, Ross & Catherall in the UK and Certified Alloy Products Inc. (CAPI) in the USA, offering a wide range of vacuum induction melting (VIM), Vacuum Induction Degassing Pouring (VIDP) and air induction melting (AIM) capabilities. VIM furnace sizes range in capacity from 500 to 8000 kg (1,100 lb – 8.8 tons).
Superalloys are alloys typically containing nickel with additions of among other things cobalt, chromium, aluminium, titanium, molybdenum, niobium, tungsten and tantalum. Included in Doncasters’ capabilities are alloys specifically designed for directional solidification and single crystal applications.
