Doncasters offers weld stud fasteners in virtually every shape, size or configuration required by worldwide leaders in the construction industry. Our construction studs are designed for non-residential applications.
Shear connectors are commonly used in steel buildings. In composite design, shear connector studs transfer horizontal shear from steel beams to the concrete slab, causing the two components to act as a single unit. Greater strength and stiffness result in increased live load capacity. Shear connectors are also used in bridge construction and are welded to the top flange of the steel beams to anchor the concrete road deck.
Deformed bar anchors and concrete anchors are commonly used to secure embedment plates in precast and prestressed concrete structures. Embedment plates are exposed, and serve as an attachment point for various elements such as lighting and control boxes.
Punching shear resistor studs are welded to stud rails which are positioned around columns in a poured in place concrete structure. These stud rails are a more effective, and lower cost option, to hand-crafting capital columns on the job site.
