Meet requirements of Qualification / Certification Procedures as outlined in STI-WI-QMS-0171, and NAS 401.

Follow specific work instructions.

Inspect and evaluate castings for acceptance in strict accordance with Customer Criteria and Engineering Specifications.

Assist in training / supervision of NDT Trainees and Level 1 personnel with structured and monitored objectives to best satisfy company and customer requirements.

Assist Engineering in achieving Product Qualification (PPAP/FPQ/FAI, etc.)

Conduct system performance checks to the applicable process standard.

Develop techniques / work instructions per approved procedures.

Ensure all application of all NDT Specifications as well as Customer / Internal and Third-Party

Documentation used within the company are in compliance.

Conduct system performance checks to the applicable process standard.

Prep parts before and after inspection to the approved work instructions.

Properly record in the electronic production tracking system (EPICOR) the progress and completion of jobs.

Any other duties as assigned by Operations Manager and/or Level 3.



Strict adherence to the Company Health & Safety policies at all times.   Operator will wear PPE at all times.

Equipment’s radiation producing and/or radioactive sources pose extreme hazards; therefore, the Level III should ensure equipment is operable in an acceptable manner.

Quality – ensure techniques and procedures are within established standards.

Productivity – Assist in reducing cycle times while eliminating redundant / non-value-added operations.

6S — maintain a clean and orderly work area at all time.

Strive to minimize costs, WIP and lead times by reduction or elimination of non-value-added activity.

Promote and assist in the continuous improvement activities.

Adhere to the Environmental Protection policies in accordance with Company objectives.

Qualifications and skills


Work area is climate controlled environment.

The noise level is greater than 85 dB in some areas.

Physical demands:

Annual vision screening is required.  Must have 20/20 vision (or corrected) and color vision for penetrant/mag inspection within established guideline of ASNT SNT-TC-1A and MIL-STD 410.

Handles castings weighing between 2 to over 60 lbs.  Hoist equipment is required for heavier castings.

Lifting, pushing and pulling of carts loaded with parts may be required

Prolonged standing in a confined area is required.

Work is repetitive in nature; therefore, close attention to detail is required.
